Titans Blue made life a little interesting for a few minutes, but Barton’s fine win over Sheffield White saw the silverware head east on the M180. Rotherham United CST did everything they could to pressurise Barton after a loss to Sheffield FC White, but they did clinch second place from Titans Blue. In The Championship, there were eleven matches, after which Club Doncaster White enjoy a three point lead over Edenthorpe. Danny, Dan and Tony were our match officials.
Titans had a great day out, enjoying three good wins to the delight of coach John Hibbert.

“ In our first game with Edenthorpe, the game started well everyone was kicking the ball anywhere, then we got a foothold in the game, ” John explained. “ Charlie scored to make it 1-0 to us then we started to play and Charlie scored again to make it 2-0. Then they started to play their game and scored one back to make it 2-1, then Dan overpowered his opponent and managed to score a long-range goal to make it 3-1. We started passing the ball about and we were dominating the game. Danny scored again to make it 4-1 with Andrew pulling off some outstanding saves. ”
“ In our second game against Sheffield Black we started slowly; they were dominating the game but then Cameron scored a screamer in the corner of the net which livened our game. Callum scored a brilliant goal, but then they scored a one-off to get back in the game. Up popped Cameron to score again. Sheffield Black were pushing back but they scored an own goal, so the game ended Titans 4 Sheffield Black 1. ”

“ In our final game against Barton, they were very strong players, ” John admitted. “ However, Charlie broke away from his player and scored our first goal; Barton pushed back but Charlotte made a cracking pass to Charlie, and he scored again! Charlie scored again and then they brought an extra player on, but Daniel Murphy overpowered their players, made a pass to Charlotte, she then passed to Charlie, and he scored our last goal; we won Titans 4 Barton 0. “
“ Just to say well-done to Ben Jones who defended brilliantly and for Morgan for playing in a different position; you played really well! Well-done to Jacob for being goal keeper for second game if I upset any players I didn’t mean to? I could not be more proud of all of you, everyone gave me 110%. All I can say is the results speak for themselves so well-done to all Under 16s on all the teams without them we wouldn’t have had such a brilliant day at the office. ”

“ All I can say now is back to training; keep training hard give yourselves one massive pat on the back -you were all outstanding today. Thank you, team. ”
With two wins on the day, Edenthorpe stay second, just two points behind Titans. Hillsborough Hornets Black are third on 17 points; they beat Sheffield FC Black and Chesterfield on the day.

The first Under-16’s Premiership match on Pitch 5, refereed by Sean, saw Bradford City Amber beat Chesterfield Community Trust FC Blue. It was a decent day for Bradford City Amber as their coach Sara told us.

“ A better day for the under 16’s Premiership this month, with a full team of 8 players and a luxury of 2 goalies. “ We played some great football, working as a team, which is the way we like to see them play, ” Sara told us. “ We won all our games. “

B City Ambers vs Chesterfield 1:0, 1 goal from Alfie C
B City Ambers vs Rotherham United 3:1, 2x Harrison and 1 x Cawley.
” Player of the day was Harrison for playing well and having a fantastic approach to football. ”

Sheffield FC Blue lie third, just one point behind Bradford City, with wins over Rotherham United and Chesterfield, and Chesterfield and Rotherham both have three points; Rotherham saw off Sheffield FC and Chesterfield battled hard all day without reward.

In the Under-16’ Championship, where refereeing duties were shared by Danny, Dan and Mike, there were eleven matches. Club Doncaster Titans White share the Divisional lead with Edenthorpe. Titans beat Sheffield FC Black, Bradford City FC Blue and Chesterfield FC White to win all three of their games on the day.
Titans Coach John Hibbert watched the games. ” Against Sheffield Black, we started to play our game, passing the ball around then Charlie scored his first goal. We were dominating the game; Charlie scored again then Charlotte scored a cracker right in the top corner. They got back in the game and scored; then Jacob scored. They got another one back then Charlie scored again. We won Titans 5 Sheffield 2. “
“ The second game was a game against Bradford City. We played a game of tennis to start, we were just kicking ball away from us willy nilly; then we started to get a foothold in the game. Jacob scored and we started to pass the ball around; they scored then Jacob scored again then they scored again. Callum scored for us, then it was a game of pong then Cameron scored his debut goal just before the final whistle to make it Titans 4 Bradford 2. “
“ Our last game was against Chesterfield. We started just passing the ball around, Charlie scored our first goal then they started to play but Charlie scored again. We started dominating the game and Jacob scored, but we started to get a bit complacent. But then Charlie scored again so the game ended Titans 4 Chesterfield 0. ”
Edenthorpe had two wins, over Hornets Black and Chesterfield White, but went down in a five-goal thriller to Bradford City Blues.

“ It was a great day for Bradford City DFC U16 Blue’s team, ” Paul Jubb told us. “ Some really great football played – well done you guys. Really proud of this group today, extremely unlucky in the first game, second game was probably the worst any of them have played…they forgot how to pass, how to shoot and the very basics of football. Off their own back they went into a huddle and had a chat with each other that ended with high fives! They came out a different side in the third game; some fantastic passing and movement and some very good team goals mixed with very good defending. That last game was probably the best I’ve watched against a side that were double their size; they battled, got stuck in, played and fought for each other and were fantastic to an individual. You could see each of them grow in that game and it was fantastic to see….well done to each and every one of you – a fantastic effort. “
Bradford City DFC- Hillsborough Hornets 2-2 Patrick 2 goals
Bradford City DFC- C D Titans 2-5 Patrick x2 goals
Bradford CityDFC- Sheffield 3-0 Callum x3 goals
Bradford City DFC- Edenthorpe 3-2 Patrick x3 goals

Very well done to Amber for player of the day – you deserved it!
Barton Inclusive Hull Under-16’s sit fourth – just three points off the joint leaders, after wins over Sheffield Black and Chesterfield White. Bradford Blue sit on 7 points, Sheffield Black on three and it can’t be long before Chesterfield get their points tally under way.
Standings in an extremely competitive Division are as follows: –
| 1 | C.D Titans U16 White | 6 | 4 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 13 |
| 2 | Edenthorpe U16 | 6 | 4 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 13 |

| 4 | Barton Inclusive -Hull U16 | 6 | 3 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 10 |

| 6 | Sheffield U16 Black | 6 | 1 | 0 | 5 | -4 | 3 |
| 7 | Chesterfield C.T U16 White | 6 | 0 | 0 | 6 | -6 | 0 |
Into the Under 12’s Premier Division, and Hornets Orange lead the way with two wins and a draw in their three games. They beat Bradford City Diamonds and Sheffield FC Red and drew a tight game with Edenthorpe. Brian assisted with the refereeing in the Division before moving to the Under-16 Divisions.
Edenthorpe enjoyed a three point haul against Bradford City Diamonds, drew with Hornets Orange and lost to Sheffield FC Red, who themselves had two wins on the day over Bradford Diamonds and Edenthorpe.
It was a tough afternoon for Bradford City, as Paul Jubb and his coach, Vicki, explained.
“ A rough day for the U12 team in the 2nd round of games in the South Yorkshire Ability Counts 5-a-side League today .The team seemed to struggle, and it was disheartening for them watching the goals against them mount up! ”
“ Unfortunately they lost all three matches but still showed sportsmanship shaking all the players hands at the end of each match. As usual behaviour was impeccable. ”
“ Congratulations to Scarlett for player of the day you made some fantastic saves and really got stuck in. ”
Just the four teams in this Division, but everyone has taken at least one win so far. Edenthorpe sit second on 11 points, with Sheffield FC Red on 6.
| 1 | Hillsborough Hornets U12 Orange | 6 | 4 | 2 | 0 | 4 | 14 |

| 4 | Bradford City FITC U12 Diamonds | 6 | 1 | 0 | 5 | -4 | 3 |
So to the nine games in the Under 12’s Championship and with 5 wins and a draw from their six games played so far it’s Barton Inclusive Hull Comets who set the early pace. Their coach, Charleigh, summed up their afternoon.
“ The Comets cleaned up in the South Yorkshire Ability Counts League, ” she told us.
” Game 1 was a 4-0 win against Sheffield after goals from EJ, O and Neil. Awesome effort from Leon keeping the oppositions shots out of his net. ”
“ The second game against Doncaster was a friendly due to low numbers for the opponents.
We took the win in game 3 after every outfield player scored at least one goal. A Brilliant game for EJ, Lucas, O and Neil. ”
“ Player of the day went to EJ, he smiled, he scored, he supported his teammates, and he selflessly supported a shorthanded Doncaster by going in goal for them in the friendly. Fabulous behaviour from him and his happy team. “

“ Player of the match went to Ejay for his sportsmanship for going to another team as they were players down, he even went in goal against his own team but took it on board. He was just saving a football even against his own team players!! As well as playing so well and doing great in a team!! So happy to say I coached the boys for the second time in their league!! Thank you all for being amazing players and making the day the best so far guys!! Super proud of you all. ”
“ Thank you to all the parents who came along to support our teams today and to our coaches and volunteers for all they do for BIFC, ” Charleigh added. “ Special mention to reporter Kas who kept the scores and had this to say about today’s games, “I love going to watch these teams play, they are so positive and supportive of each other. ”
So it’s Barton Comets ahead of Rotherham after Rotherham beat Titans Red, Sheffield White and Titans Blue to make it a super afternoon for the Millers. Comets have 16 points from six matches, and Rotherham 13.
Chesterfield have nine points after winning a seven-goal thriller with Titans Red and they took the points by default against Titans Blue who were short-handed and winless on the day.

League unveils new disciplinary processes
Not a bad day to start another www.southyorkshireabilitycountsleague.com season, as our 21 Junior teams from four divisions navigated 32 fixtures across five pitches at the Goals Centre in Doncaster last Sunday.
Our Junior matchdays are always well supported, and Sunday was no exception as good crowds of parents and carers were there to follow the action.
Once again, our www.southyorkshireabilitycountsleague.com website editor Margaret Gregory took out the best of the action from our match reporters for you.
The SYACL launched its new disciplinary processes on this opening day of the season. These are focused on education and the application of reasonable adjustments and can be found on our website later in the week. The process started well and will be kept under review throughout the season.

Sheffield Blue had good wins over Bradford Amber and Bradford Blue to sit second in the table, and Chesterfield FC Blue enjoyed a fine win over Bradford Blue, and are level on three points with Bradford Amber. It was a tough day for Rotherham United Community Trust, but their time will surely come.

“ It was a challenging start for our under 16 Blues in the new start to the season, but a fantastic effort nevertheless,” Paul told us. “A fantastic effort from the team.
The games were challenging but the team gave it all they could. All players showed hard work and resilience today even when it wasn’t their day. “
Coach Sara added, “Player of the day goes to Callum for making the most awesome saves, however not taking away from how hard each player worked outfield. Behaviour was on point and still a great day. Well done team, super proud. “

In the under-12’s Championship, Titans Blue took an early lead with three wins from three, with Charlotte a stand out player.
It was a red letter day for Barton Inclusive with two wins in their first www.SYorksACL.com matchday.
“ Here’s the post you’ve all been waiting for …” Lady Lo Newby told us, “ BIFC Hull Comets played their first EVER South Yorkshire Ability Counts League fixtures today.
Our little squad of O, EJ, George, Leon, Neil and Lucas arrived at Goals Doncaster with smiles on their faces but a little trepidation in their hearts. ”
“ After a warm up with volunteer Kasper they soon settled into their first game. “
” Coaches Chris, Paul and Charliegh grinned with pride – not just at their 2 wins but also at the impeccable team-spirit these players demonstrated. The goal scorers today were EJ, Lucas, George and Neil. We lost count of the amount of on target shots our GK Leon saved, with some dives that Allison ( the Liverpool goalkeeper) would be proud of. “
“ Encouraging each other, respecting the officials and being true sportsmen on and off the field comes so naturally to our Comets. Today Lucas demonstrated all these qualities perfectly when he helped out Doncaster, who were a man down for their middle game. ”
“ Chris, Charliegh and Kasper unanimously agreed that Lucas deserved the first league ‘Player of the Month’ trophy. “
A win, a loss and a draw for a plucky Rotherham team, three for Chesterfield and a point apiece for Titans and Sheffield White.
