SYACL supporting Stocksbridge Hub foodbank.

The South Yorkshire Ability Counts League is proud to be associated with Stocksbridge Park Steels, who are fundraising for the Stocksbridge Hub foodbank.

At the SYACL match days in December, at Concord Sports Centre and Goals Sheffield, a drop box will be available for the collection of important foodstuffs and hygiene products. If you prefer to make a cash donation, collection boxes will be available.

Non – perishable foodstuffs please :
Teabags, Coffee, UHT Milk, Cartons of fruit juice, dried pasta, rice, tins of meat/tuna, tinned tomatoes, tinned beans, tinned/instant potatoes, tinned soup, jars of pasta sauce, breakfast cereal, tinned fruit, tinned vegetables.

The Hub is an independent foodbank, one of 2,500 food banks in the UK, and part of the Sheffield Foodbank network, which also includes the S6 and Philadelphia food banks.
The Foodbank is operated by ten local volunteers and has been in operation for over ten years. During its life, the Foodbank has supported over four thousand families, from Stocksbridge and Oughtibridge, but also from Penistone and as far away as Rotherham.

The league hope that all our clubs and their individual teams make an effort to support such a wonderful cause. Please pass this message onto all your players / families / carers , so we can all help to collect as much foodstuffs, hygiene products and money, as possible .

Please all get involved and collect as much as you can. It will be very much appreciated  – especially at this time of the year!
